MISHIMOTO Ford Focus RS Air Intake Kit, 2016-2018

Ford has finally delivered a Focus worthy of the RS badge to the U.S. market, and Mishimoto set out to enhance its performance from the start. Among the highest‑priority upgrades was a complete intake system. Mishimoto engineers invested extensive development time, conducting multiple tests and collecting detailed data to ensure optimal performance.

This system is a full replacement for the factory intake, including both the airbox and intake pipe. The kit features a 3‑inch aluminum intake pipe routed directly to the turbocharger, supported by dedicated bracketry for precise fitment. The airbox follows the general layout of the OEM unit but incorporates an open‑top design that reduces pressure drop, exposes the filter to increased airflow, and seals against the hood to maintain a fully enclosed structure. The airbox utilizes the factory inlet ducts, drawing fresh air from the front of the vehicle, and weather‑stripping surrounds the ports to prevent movement and ensure consistent sealing.

Hundreds of miles of road testing and numerous dyno sessions confirmed repeatable gains of 12 hp and 15 lb‑ft of torque on the stock tune. No cutting or modification is required; the system is a direct bolt‑on upgrade for the 2016–2018 Focus RS. As with all Mishimoto components, the intake is backed by the Mishimoto Lifetime Warranty.
