The factory oil cooler is mounted perpendicular to the main cooling stack to take advantage of the vehicle’s aerodynamics, but its lightweight tube‑and‑fin construction leaves it vulnerable to road debris and impact damage. Mishimoto reinforces this system with a significantly stronger and more efficient design.

The performance oil cooler features a full aluminum bar‑and‑plate core, TIG‑welded for maximum strength and consistent heat transfer under elevated operating conditions. The robust core construction provides superior resistance to debris while improving cooling efficiency. An additional 10 mm of core thickness increases core volume by 46 percent and expands oil capacity by 0.4 qt, supporting stable oil temperatures during aggressive driving.

To further enhance reliability, the kit replaces the factory hardlines—prone to abrasion and corrosion—with application‑specific nylon‑braided lines that offer flexibility, durability, and secure oil flow. Custom‑engineered adapters allow the use of AN fittings at the S55 oil pump and ensure a precise, leak‑free connection to the cooler.
