The Mishimoto Performance Oil Cooler adds essential durability and improved thermal control to the 2015–2020 BMW M3 and M4. BMW positioned the factory oil cooler perpendicular to the main cooling stack to take advantage of vehicle aerodynamics, but its lightweight tube‑and‑fin construction leaves it vulnerable to road debris and impact damage. Mishimoto reinforces this system with a significantly stronger and more efficient design.

The performance oil cooler features a full aluminum bar‑and‑plate core, TIG‑welded for maximum strength and consistent heat transfer under elevated operating conditions. This robust core construction provides superior resistance to debris while improving cooling efficiency. An additional 10 mm of core thickness increases core volume by 46 percent and expands oil capacity by 0.4 qt, supporting stable oil temperatures during aggressive driving.
